These Stuck Cars Find Out the Hard Way It’s Mud Season in New Hampshire

Mud season is here, folks!

New Englanders know mud season happens around this time every year. Sometimes seeing some of the slips and slides remind us to be a little extra careful.

As the temperatures warm, the snow melts, the spring rain comes, and BOOM. You may end up stuck, needing your friends to push you out of a mud field.

I guess getting stuck and pulled out would be better than towed. We all know getting towed comes with a hefty price tag.

I supposed a pricey tow would be better than the worst-case scenario - an accident.

As of March 19, 2022, the Sandwich, New Hampshire, Police Department reportedly towed five cars in only a few days, according to a Facebook post.

Just take a look at two of the cars the police department helped that found out the hard way it's no longer winter.

Although locals are used to this mud, New Hampshire does bring a variety of tourists to all sections of our beautiful state.

Even an experienced local may make a mistake, thinking they could make it through if they just went slow.

I was gently reminded that mud season was here last weekend. I was up in Plymouth, New Hampshire, eager to explore the Whites for the first time this spring.

As I slowly drove through I began to slip, slide, and then stress. There was no way I was going to make it to a trail head with the road being this muddy.

Although I made it through mud pile number one, I turned around and decided to take a different trailhead.

Play in the mud. Don't drive in it.
