This Couple Held an Impromptu Wedding in Puerto Rico After Being Stranded There Because of Hurricanes
According to the Mail Tribune, Micah Pitts and Dawn Dalton from Grand Pass Oregon planned a week stay in Puerto Rico in mid-September. Two days into their trip Irma came roaring through soon to be followed by Maria. their one week stay was extended to two weeks.
The couple decided to make some lemonade out of the lemons also know as their vacation, and have an impromptu wedding at the resort!
Their impromptu wedding included other stranded travelers, a ship captain, who married them, and a photographer. A flower boy sprinkled pieces of paper instead of rose petals. It wasn't much but it was still special and a day they won't soon forget.
I am in the process of planning a wedding. And this story just goes to show that nice big planned out weddings are all well and good. But at the end of the day, it is about you and that person. It doesn't matter if you are stranded far from home because of a hurricane. You can have a beautiful wedding anywhere as long as it's to the right person!
