According to WMTW, this Kennebunk bookstore is a little off the beaten path but well worth the journey! A bookstore solely dedicated to one genre is pretty unique on its own, but the setting of this bookstore also sets it apart from the rest. The owners Whetstone and Paula Keeney had an old carriage house tucked away in their backyard that they converted.

Whetstone and Paula Keeney were both teachers and have been collecting murder mystery novels over the years. This has been their retirement plan in the making! During the Winter they would go to flea markets and library sales to add more titles to their collection. They now have over 10,000 books and are excited to share their passion for murder mysteries with Northern New England!

I have been very into true crime podcasts (aka My Favorite Murder) as of late, so I think a visit to Mainely Murders is in my near future. Have you been?
