Brookstone Is Closing All Of Their Mall Stores In New England
One of the coolest gadget stores ever has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy...again. But this time they're closing down all 101 of their stores located inside malls. According to a report by WMTW-TV, Brookstone will focus entirely on its 35 airport locations, and online sales.
Brookstone, based out of Merrimack, New Hampshire, originally filed for bankruptcy back in 2014. WMTW says they were sold at auction that summer before emerging from bankruptcy protection.
Personally, this is a real bummer. I loved going into Brookstone and sitting in the massage chairs. They always had cool headphones, and fun weather gadgets. When I got married back in the day, I got all my groomsmen's gifts there.
I guess the good news is they make really awesome luggage and cool travel gadgets. Which is perfect since they're keeping their airport locations.
The stores closing in New England include:
Maine Mall, South Portland, ME
Pheasant Lane Mall, Nashua, NH
Settlers Green Outlet, North Conway, NH
Burlington Mall, Burlington, MA
Natick Mall, Natick, MA
South Shore Mall, Braintree, MA
