Tornado Slams into Massachusetts Town Over the Weekend Wreaking Havoc
Dozens of people are displaced, one person was injured after a tornado touched down in Webster, Massachusetts this past weekend.
Clean-up is now underway after the EF-1 tornado spiraled through Webster late Saturday morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) did confirm the EF-1 tornado, which included winds up to 110 miles per hour. The area was also slammed with torrential rain.
This is the third tornado to hit southern Massachusetts in as many weeks. The other tornadoes were confirmed in the towns of Douglas and Upton, Mass.
Across Webster, trees are split in half, roofs are torn off and a local supermarket is destroyed. Two buildings were ordered to be demolished because of the damaged sustained by the storm. The American Red Cross was called in to assist those in need.
