WMUR has confirmed that an intern for New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan has been suspended. This, after the intern yelled an obscenity at President Donald Trump.

The incident took place last week when Trump arrived at the Capitol to meet with Republican lawmakers to talk about the immigration issue.

The intern, identified as Caitlin Marriott has been suspended for one week and her access to the U.S. Capitol has been restricted. Her Congressional intern ID badge has also been revoked.

Aaron Jacobs, Hassan's communications director released a statement that called the incident a 'breach of office policies regarding respectful and appropriate conduct.'

'We are aware of the situation and have taken disciplinary action, including a one-week suspension and revoking her Congressional intern ID badge (thereby restricting her access to the Capitol), in response to her breach of office policies regarding respectful and appropriate conduct. We also facilitated contact with Capitol Police,'Jacobs wrote.
