Turkey Season In Maine Put On Hold Due To Emergency Proclamation
Turkey Season in Maine is going to have to wait at least another day. According to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife website, an Emergency Proclamation from Maine Governor Paul LePage, has put a ban on hunting until further notice.
Initially the delay was to keep parts of Somerset County clear while police hunted for a man who allegedly shot and killed a Maine sheriff's deputy. Although the suspect has been apprehended, the Governor has decided to keep the ban in place.
