I have always wanted a vanity plate I'm just too lazy to take the steps to make it happen. I also don't have a clever idea of what I would want my vanity plate to say. The obvious choice would be my nickname ever since childhood and my now Instagram handle, KiraLewWho.

But if I really think about it, there are moments where I am not so proud of my driving skills. My parking jobs have been called atrocious and maybe it would be best to not make myself so easily identifiable to other drivers. Maybe once I become a driver I am proud to be I will get a vanity plate. So, let's not count on that happening ;)

How does one go about getting a vanity plate in New Hampshire?
There are a few things you need to know. One is the cost which is completely reasonable (in my opinion) $40 for 12 months.

The second thing you need to know is that you have to fill out an application. It's not long, however, you have to make sure nobody else has the vanity plate that you want to claim.

I just recently learned that the State of New Hampshire has a wicked fun tool you can use before you fill out the application to obtain your vanity plate.

All you have to do is click here, enter your vehicle make and model and what kind of plate you want. (for example you can choose from Antique, Conservation, Disabled Vet, Purple Heart, etc If you want regular plates for a regular car select "Passenger". Next step is the fun part. Enter the name you want on your plate. It will come back as either available, and show you what it would look like, or it will tell you it isn't available and that some other clever Granite Stater got his/her paws on it first.

Someone named Tim Nelson posted on the U Local New Hampshire Facebook page that they grew up in New Hampshire and moved to Utah a few years back and got a vanity plate to show for it!

He went back home to New Hampshire recently and saw his twin flame on the road. This car was rocking his same plate but the New Hampshire edition. He had to do a double take!

The New Hampshire vanity plate owner ended up being a woman named Kim Coffey-Philbrick. Her family are New Hampshire natives but they frequent the Salt Lake City area as her son lives there. They love Utah!

My favorite was the person who said "maybe they are secret lovers!" To which Kim said "I think I’m old enough to be his mother". We love some hilarious, wholesome social media content these days!
