The legal drinking age in the United States is 21. That means whether you're in California or New Hampshire, you can't purchase any alcohol if you're underage.

Unfortunately, two establishments allegedly forgot the age requirement memo.

According to a Durham Police Department press release, the department teamed up with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission Law Enforcement Division on Thursday, March 4, and conducted an alcohol compliance check.

The check was done at all 14 vendors licensed to sell alcohol in Durham with an underage volunteer trained by the liquor commission.

Twelve of the locations passed, but Campus Convenience and Mobil failed the compliance check, Durham police said.

Dinesh Patel of Durham, NH, and Allonis R. Roy of Dover, NH, were each charged with a Class B misdemeanor.

Their arraignment will be at 8:15 a.m. April 15, at 7th Circuit Court, Dover District Division.
