UNH Researchers Study Coastal Flooding
(Durham, NH) - Findings show that "nuisance flooding" on shoreline roads is occurring more frequently than ever before.
UNH researchers have found that in the past 20 years, roads along the East Coast have experienced a 90 per-cent increase in flooding.
Jennifer Jacobs, professor of civil and environmental engineering at UNH ,says that with the continued rise of sea levels, the frequency of the nuisance flooding events is expected to grow.
The UNH research study was recently published in the journal Transportation Research Record.
