Union Employees Picket At Newington Plant
(Newington, NH) - A contract dispute has left 172 union employees locked-out of the Westinghouse Electric plant in Newington.
Members of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 651, began their picket Sunday, ahead of the impending midnight lockout.
The union contract with the company had expired last month, and efforts to reach a new contract have stalled. Negotiations will continue.
The Newington plant continues to operate with non-union employees.
