NOAA, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration released their prediction for this winter and finds that the strong El Nino conditions this year will most likely result in above average temperatures over the next few months. The south is expected to be cooler and wetter than normal.

NOAA says that an El Nino is a change in the temperature in the tropical Pacific Ocean. They also say that this has an effect on the weather around the globe and watch it very carefully. The El Nino can affect the position of the jet stream which inlfuences how our winters go.
