Why Did The Turtle Cross The Road?

(Dover, NH) - Apparently to dig in the dirt!

I had to stop my car on my way home from work last week as this turtle decided to cross Middle Road and started to dig in. I am not sure if she was preparing to lay her eggs, but she did give me a dirty look when I approached to take this picture.
