It's official.  The 37th Annual 97.5 WOKQ Chowder Festival presented by Avery Insurance has been announced by the Prescott Park Arts Festival.  The date is Saturday, June 1, 2024.  It's always the first Saturday in June, so it should already be on your calendar.

The festival features at least a dozen restaurants with their own take on New England clam chowder.  It's always hot and delicious on an early June day, and so tough to pick one for the prestigious Golden Ladle Award.

Last year's Chowder Festival 2023 Judge's Choice winner was York River Landing in York, Maine.

The 2023 People's Choice Golden Ladle went to The River House in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

This year will feature a plethora of chowder-making eateries, from your favorites to the judges' favorites.  There are two categories: the judges' choice, and the people's choice.  Either way it's a blast for everyone and every age.

It's a fun day for the kids too, with lawn games, bubbles, and live music. Don't wait to get your tickets, because they sell out every year.  Go to prescottpark.org for tickets.

Logan Sherwood of "Kira & Logan in the Morning" will be a host and judge, so stop by and snap a photo for Facebook or Instagram with your bestie.

Congrats to the Prescott Park Arts Festival for celebrating 50 years of bringing exceptional events to the park, including some of the best live music in the region each season.

Oh, and if you don't love clam chowder, there are other foods available at the concession stand at the park.  So bring your appetite either way.
