Woman Flips Out on New Hampshire Meteorologist Matt Hoenig at Grocery Store
This took a hard and kind of unexpected turn pretty quickly.
Imagine you either just wrap up a hard day of work and need to go to the grocery store to pick up some things, or you decide to wake up early and knock your food shopping out of the way first thing.
Seems harmless enough, right? Until you're minding your own business walking up and down the aisles, get approached by a woman who starts off nice enough at first, then randomly loses her mind on you.
Because that's exactly what happened to WMUR meteorologist Matt Hoenig the other day.
Matt Hoenig at WMUR
If Matt's name sounds familiar to you outside of his work with WMUR, he's actually been reporting the weather in New England for a while. Before his move to WMUR in July 2022, Matt worked as a meteorologist for WMUR's sister station, WGME in Maine. And even before that, he covered a Cape Cod tornado as an intern at WCVB in Boston.
So, needless to say, Matt is pretty recognizable throughout New England. And honestly, a pretty down-to-earth, low-key guy, if his Twitter and personal interactions with him on there is any indication.
Which makes the situation he tweeted about last week all the more puzzling, because he's literally one of the nicest humans on the planet.
While there were a ton of typical Northern New England sarcastic responses to Matt's genuine question (including yours truly, suggesting he point the woman to the cleaning products aisle, because chemicals), Matt, to his credit, handled it like a true pro.
I said: “okay, have a nice day” and walked away.
I mean, really -- what else was the poor guy supposed to do in a random situation like that?
What are chemtrails?
According to a Harvard University research group, chemtrails
...refers to the theory that governments or other parties are engaged in a secret program to add toxic chemicals to the atmosphere from aircraft in a way that forms visible plumes in the sky, somewhat similar to contrails.
Definitely not the type of conversation topic you expect to have/get into/get accused of when you're just trying to grab some quick things to make breakfast later that morning. Yikes.
