
World War II Era Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Brentwood, NH
A plane made an emergency landing in Brentwood Thursday afternoon after losing power in one of its engines.
The pilot of the single-engine Aeronca 058B broadcast a mayday message around 4 p.m. and safely landed at Winterwood Airport, a private grass turf landing facility off Pickpocket Road.
The pilot was the only person on board.
The FAA on Friday morning had not yet posted the plane's registration number. The agency is investigating the incident.
Aeronca planes were used by the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II for observation. Its canopy was modified and was the first to include radio equipment. 875 of the craft were built
