Police issued over 60 tickets during a special directed patrol on Route 125 Friday including one which was preceded by a slow-speed chase.

The goal of the patrol was to find speeding, impaired and distracted drivers, between Plaistow and Milton, according to the New Hampshire Department of Safety Division. The Brentwood, Epping, Lee, Barrington and Rochester Police Departments assisted with the patrol.

Officers made a total of 294 motor vehicle stops and issued 64 citations and 240 warnings, according to State Police. Ten of the stops led to an arrest including one impaired driver who bolted from their stop. Officers used a tire deflation device to end a brief slow-speed pursuit.

The driver was later charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle violations.

State Police said there have been 450 crashes and 118 individuals injured on Route 125 since 2016.
