Was Aaron Hernandez gay?  The new Netflix documentary “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez” certainly leans towards the fact that Aaron Hernandez, the Tight End of the New England Patriots was gay. According to hiphoplately.com the documentary interviews high school teammate, Dennis SanSoucie who claims they had a years-long gay relationship, the film comes up short with any real evidence.  They interview former NFL players who have since come out as gay, but barely knew Hernandez, and they offer their opinions without firsthand knowledge.

A lawyer on Hernandez’s defense team, George Leontire, said in a previous documentary “Aaron and I talked about his sexuality.  This man clearly was gay.”  Leontire, who is gay, goes on to say ”[He] acknowledged it.”  According to hophoplately.com Hernandez’s lead trial attorney, Jose Baez has come out strongly with statements that the documentary is just a money grab by the makers and has said on Instagram “I don’t give a damn about what some lame-ass documentary has to say about Aaron, I knew him, they did not and while he was far from perfect, they are not even close to the truth.”

Hernandez was convicted of the murder of Odin Lloyd and sentenced to life in prison.  He was found dead in his prison cell of an apparent suicide in 2017.  Aaron Hernandez was only 27 at the time of death.  In this tragic tale, it does not appear that we will never have a true understanding of who Aaron Hernandez ever was.
