That sound like a lot, but it's actually down by over 2% from the previous year.
Times Are Tight
While we all struggle with the high cost of food, gas, housing, and simply living, there's one thing that's increased in these tough times.
People are caring more now than ever for each other. Volunteering your time, and donating your money offer great comfort to those in need, but it's more than that.
According to wallethub.com, some of the other key components to being called one of the most caring cities in the country is by having a high count of professions which offer service and compassion to others.
Wallethub analyst Chip Lupo says,
Residents also display their care for others by working in professions that help others, like teaching, social work, firefighting and medicine, at high rates. In addition, the top cities have low crime rates, environmentally-friendly residents and low rates of poverty and homelessness.
Most Caring City in New England
A recent survey shows Boston is the only city in New England ranked nationally as top 100 large city for caring for their communities. Boston ranks #1 for caring in the workforce, so there are a bunch of happy employees inside the city limits.
