Apple Harvest Day Happens in Dover, NH for 40th Year
That first bite of apple by Dover, New Hampshire Mayor Bob Carrier, the Chamber of Commerce and Kira Lew of 97.5 WOKQ's Kira & Logan in the Morning, is what kicks it off promptly at 9am each year.
Apple Harvest Festival happens every year on the first Saturday of October, and it takes an entire year to plan. The date this year is October 5th.
Why is it so special? Because it's the biggest community event all year in Dover, and it's full on participation from everyone to celebrate fall in this vivacious city.
The festival is the first seacoast fall event and one of the biggest each year, with over 60,000 attending, strolling through the closed streets which are lined with all types of vendors and events.

There's live music, face painting, food vendors, arts & crafts, and local business booths, plus the 97.5 WOKQ Apple Pie Contest. What would a local event be in New England without a good old-fashioned apple pie bake off?
The 97.5 WOKQ Apple Pie Contest is fun for bakers of all ages, with two categories, adult and youth. The youth bakers are always fun because the kids put their best foot forward to win and learn baking strategies from their parents and grandparents. You can register HERE.
