David Ortiz is looking for 34 qualified runners to join him at next April's event.

Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is gearing up for the 2020 Boston Marathon. The man who proclaimed "this is our (expletive) city" shortly after the Boston Marathon tragedy of , is organizing a team for next year's edition. According to an Instagram post, it for the David Ortiz Children's Fund.  David stated "Red Sox Nation – Thx for all your support… If you wonna know how you can help me… I’m looking for 34 Qualified Registered Runners with a bib to join MY team for the 2020 Boston Marathon. TEAM PAPI and @davidortizfund provide life-saving heart surgeries for children.”

You'll notice Big Papi stressed "qualified runners." Meaning, if the baseball great has inspired you to dust off your running shoes, and take a jog around the block, awesome. However, this isn't something you'd be cut out for. Plus, you'll need to have earned a bib. However, one foot in front of the other, right? Absolutely!

Next year's Marathon is 4/20. The 7th anniversary of the infamous soundbite.
