Boston Chef Named One of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in America
If you've ever been to MIDA in Boston, you know the food is pretty delicious. It's Italian, so we're already off to a good start. According to Open Table:
"MIDA is a South End neighborhood restaurant, inspired by the simplicity of classic Italian dishes . Our menu focuses on many regions of traditional Italian food and culture, using fresh, seasonal ingredients."
I recently went to Boston (and by recently, i mean before this pandemic took over) for a girls trip. We were looking for anything Italian, and even with so many choices MIDA caught our eye.
The vibe and atmosphere was incredible and the food was so delicious. Now I know why!
The chef and owner at MIDA just was named one of Food and Wine's Best New Chefs in America! According to Boston.com, Douglas Williams is a "master of texture". MIDA makes over 700 pounds of fresh pasta per week according to Boston.com.
Williams issued a press release expressing his gratitude for making the "best of" list. He said that he had always dreamed of owning his own restaurant and knew this location would be perfect for his first.
Unfortunately, MIDA has been forced to temporarily close it's doors due to Covid-19.
Williams told Boston.com:
“This honor truly makes me pause. The pandemic is hitting all of us in the gut — at home and in business — we are all trying to figure out how to survive and to succeed. I just want us all to take care of one another. …We will get through this together, and there will be beautiful pasta to share with friends.”
Williams tells Boston.com that he plans to open for takeout and delivery this week. My recommendations? You can't pass up the arancini (so good!) and Crispy Polenta. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
