The annual reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, on the front steps of Dover City Hall.

Dover Mayor Karen Weston will host founding fathers Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams for the event that marks the 241st anniversary of the birth of the United States of America.

You can catch WOKQ's News Director, Don Briand, once again playing the part of John Adams. Don does a stellar job every year at this event, and it's a MUST SEE! This is the 18th year that the Declaration has been read in Dover on the 4th of July.

Music and fireworks are scheduled for Tuesday evening (weather permitting) from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. in downtown Dover.
