Apparently, August 23rd is known at 'Cheap Flight Day.' A day where you can grab some awesome deals on airfares.

"Cheap Flight Day” may be just the day you've been waiting for if you haven't been on summer vacation yet or if you want to get one more trip in before the kids head back to school. It seems the 23rd of August marks the beginning of the fall travel season since the kids are getting ready to go back to the classroom and traveling with the family sees a significant drop. The good news about this time of year is you can see airfares drop up to twenty percent, maybe more.

To find the best fares, there are some things you need to keep in mind:

*Check out recent sales from airlines and look at the travel periods covered by the deals.

*As a general rule, the cheapest days of the week to fly remain Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

*Book at least 30 days before you plan to take off.
