Hero Pups, a non-profit organization based in Stratham, is giving one of their rescue dogs to the Claremont, NH Police Department.

According to their Facebook page, the pup will serve as a comfort dog, and will be responsible for interacting with kids and their families during stressful times, as well as supporting victims of a crime.

The pup is adorable, and the Claremont Police want to pick out the perfect name for the little guy.

That's where you come in!  They are asking for your help, and plan to make a decision by Friday!

Claremont Police Department will continue to work with Hero Pups and a dog handler to train the pup to become a service dog.

Heropups says their mission is:

"to acquire and train dogs that have the potential to successfully undergo and complete the rigorous training that allows them to assist our veterans and first responders,"

While their main focus is New Hampshire, they say that their volunteers rescue dogs from all over New England.

Currently two names are the frontrunners: Goose and Sully.  If you'd like to suggest a name for this adorable guy, get your entry in by Friday at 8am right here.
