Dogs Eat, Too, at The Corner Pub in Kittery, Maine, With Special Patty Cakes Your Pup Will Devour

During my first week up here, I stumbled across a spot in Kittery, Maine, called The Corner Pub, and it didn’t take long to realize I had found something special.

Tucked near the water inside a charming old home, this place is serving up fresh burgers, hearty sandwiches, and one of the most unique menu items I’ve come across in a while… something just for your furry friends.

It's a place where both you and your dog can enjoy something delicious together.

The Corner Pub has something called Patty Cakes for Pups, which might be one of the most thoughtful menu additions I’ve seen.

Made locally with protein, root vegetables, and rice, they’re designed specifically for dogs. Whether you’re just treating your pup or, like I found myself doing, in a pinch without dog food, it’s a lifesaver.

And honestly, it says a lot about a place when they’re thinking about every member of your family, even the four-legged ones.

Yes, according to the Corner Pub's website, your dog can come and hang out on the patio and enjoy the fun.

Of course, while they get to chow down on that, you've got a bunch of tasty options as well.

I went with the patty melt and a side of their crispy tater tots, and right away, one thing stood out: they do not skimp on portions. These are the kind of meals you could easily split, though you might not want to once you take a bite.

The patty melt was everything you hope for: rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and stacked just right. What really pushed it over the top, though, was their house burger sauce (insanely addicting!), with that perfect balance of tangy and savory that keeps you going back for another bite without even thinking about it.

And the tater tots? As someone who’s usually on the fence about them, I was genuinely surprised. Golden, crispy, and just the right amount of salty; they completely won me over.

Something for me and something for the dog. A real win-win.

The open floor plan gives the space an easy, welcoming energy, with pool tables, high-top seating, and cozy wooden booths that feel like they’ve been there forever (in the best way). There’s a small wooden bar where you can grab a beer, chat with the staff, or even pick up your food if you’re ordering takeout. It’s the kind of place that feels lived-in, comfortable, and genuinely local.

The Corner Pub isn’t trying to be flashy; it doesn’t have to be. It's got that classic, laid-back pub feel, and the open floor plan gives the space an easy, welcoming energy, with pool tables, high-top seating, and cozy wooden booths that feel like they’ve been there forever (in the best way).

It’s the kind of spot you find by accident… and then keep going back to on purpose.
