New Mashup: Take Drake, Add Boston, and This is What It Equals
When someone mentions the Stanley cup, my brain immediately goes to the NHL and the Lord Stanley Cup. Lately on social media, that's not what's trending when you type in 'Stanley Cup'.
What is trending has been made famous by a social media influencer: the stainless steel tumbler/cup, usually 40 ounces, made by the Stanley company. Most of Gen Z would agree that a Stanley cup has nothing to do with hockey.
So if I say "Drake", what do you think of? I'd go to the rapper Drake, right?
Well, not in this case. Drake is coming to Boston, but it's not what you think.
Drake's Cakes has debuted a new version of its popular Yodel snack. Yodels are those delicious chocolate-frosted, vanilla creme-filled devil's food cake rolls. They're cousin to Drake's other snack-a-licious products, Devil Dogs, Ring Dings, Honey Buns, Funny Bones, Coffee Cakes, Fruit Pies, and Yankee Doodles.
The newest twist is Drake's Boston Creme Yodels, filled with Boston Cream (like the pie) instead of vanilla creme, making them creamier and delicious.
The company opened in 1896 and has been a popular cake snack ever since. The famous Devil Dogs debuted in 1926, with Ring Dings entering the market in 1958, and the Yodel in 1962.
If you can't find the new Boston Creme Yodel in your local market, you can buy them online at drakescakes.com for only $3.99 for a box of 10. Drake's products are certified kosher, and "always imitated, but never duplicated" according to the website.
This isn't the first time Drake's has tried a different Yodel. In 2022, they featured Alpine Yodels with white cake, white creme filling, and a white frosted coating.
And that's how Drake + Boston = Yodels.
