Although according to Masslive.com drive through testing has begun in select areas, be warned you may need a physician’s prescription or an appointment to get the test. Even if you are showing symptoms, you must follow a few steps before entering a drive through testing location.

Worcester Director of Public Health Dr. Michael Hirsch says, “We don’t want people showing up saying ‘I just want to know if I’m negative.’” There are currently two hospitals in Worcester, Mass that are offering drive-thru testing. One at S. Vincent’s Hospital that has been operational since last weekend and the UMass Memorial Medical Center will begin today.

The UMass Memorial testing site will require patients to have been identified by a UMass physician first. Authorities are cautioning the public not to just drive up and expect to get a test. There are currently not enough tests to go around so they essentially being rationed according to Masslive.com.
