A woman was at the beach with her family in Panama City, Florida a few days ago when her 8- and 11-year-old sons were too far out in the water....and got sucked up in life-threatening riptide.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, her whole family swam out  to get them, which just made things even worse, because now nine people were stuck in the rip tide, and the current kept pulling them under. She says she thought she was about to lose everyone. And to make matters worse, in the middle of everything, her mom started having a massive heart attack out in the water.

Luckily, a woman on the beach realized what was happening, and started swimming out on a boogie board. Meanwhile, her husband stayed back and got everyone on the beach to form a human chain. He got about 80 people to link arms. Some of them didn't even know how to swim but helped anyway, and stayed where they could stand. They rescued everyone. And they got her mom to a hospital, and she's recovering. Nobody else was seriously injured.
