Father Arrested/Amber Alert Cancelled

(Somersworth, NH) - A Berwick, Maine man is facing several charges after a child abduction Thursday evening in Somersworth.

33 year old Jeremiah Grant was apprehended after a brief pursuit in Farmington, Maine around 1:30 this morning. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and driving a stolen vehicle.

Police had issued the Amber Alert after Grant took 1 year old Malachi Grant from Somersworth without his mother's consent. There were questions about Grants mental state, leading to concern for the child's safety.

The child was unharmed and has been reunited with his mother in Somersworth.

Grant faces extradition to New Hampshire to face several charges.
