The Dover Bowl has long hosted a bingo operation but is now gearing up to transition from the Dover Bowl to the Dover Poker Room & Casino. Fosters.com is reporting that Dover Bowl has applied for a license to operate a gaming facility at its Central Avenue location with the Office of Racing and Charitable Gaming. An official with N.H. Lottery, Laura McCann, stated that the gaming application was submitted and processed and that “At this time a site visit to the facility is pending.”

Charitable gaming operations have limits in New Hampshire with limits on betting amounts and a percentage of the profits have to go to nonprofits. There are other charitable gaming operations operating in the area already such as Ocean Gaming at Hampton Beach, the Poker Room in Hampton Falls and the Greyhound Casino & Tavern in Seabrook.

Fosters.com quotes the Dover Bowl Facebook page which says the new operation will be “located inside the Dover Bowl complex” and will include poker, blackjack, and roulette. The Facebook page says it plans to open in December but an employee with Dover Bowl said the opening night might not happen until February. So for now, it’s just Bingo a the Dover Bowl but it looks like much more is going to happen in the near future.
