Granger Smith brought his Granger Across Merica Pledge of Allegiance Tour to Market Square on Monday. We were there to record it and ask what inspired him to recite the pledge in the thirteen original colonies.

In the middle of a day that began in Philadelphia and ultimately ended in New York City, Granger made his way out in front of North Church in Portsmouth's Market Square to chat with fans, talk about what brought him to New Hampshire for the event, and to recite the pledge.

His Earl Dibbles Jr. alter-ego did not make an appearance, lending an appropriately more sincere than comical air to the event. After saying a few words about the importance of patriotism and the pledge itself, the soft spoken singer patiently signed autographs for and took pictures with all who attended.
