Honeymoon Covered Bridge in Jackson NH Was Hit By A Vehicle Again
According to The Conway Daily Sun, on Tuesday morning around 7:30, a Alvin J. Coleman & Son cement truck ignored the 3 ton limit sign and struck at least four of the bridge's cross braces. This bridge was built in 1876, it can't handle that kind of trauma!
The only blessing is that the driver stopped when he was 30 feet into the tunnel and backed out, so there wasn't as much damage done to this bridge as there could have been.
Even if the bridge is not reopened by August 4th, the annual Jackson Covered Bridge Dance will still be happening according to the Jackson Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Kathleen Driscoll.
