Let's face it.  Upgrading operating systems on phones is not always convenient.  It's like weekly upgrades on your computer.  They are necessary, but something always goes sideways.

I'm still working on IOS 17, but if you've upgraded to IOS 18, there's a good chance you've lost your notes in your phone. There's a bug in IOS 18.

New Englanders get annoyed quickly, but before you panic, the good news is you can get them back.

Recently, mashable.com shared with concerned Apple phone users the following instructions on how to win back those notes.

It seems when some users update and agree to the terms of the new IOS version, once they hit "agree", the notes go into the cloud.  It doesn't happen for everyone who upgrades, but many have this issue.  The notes "on my iPhone" is empty.

Mac9to5.com says it's an easy fix to get your notes back.  Follow these instructions.

How to fix Notes Vanished Glitch
Go to Settings -> [your name] -> iCloud -> Notes.
Wait for the ‘Sync this iPhone’ toggle to appear, and ensure it is enabled.
Wait a couple moments and re-open the Notes app.
The Notes app should now kick into action and start redownloading all your notes from iCloud.

It may take a few minutes, but they will come back to you.

While these types of glitches can be frustrating, the good news is some tech expert usually figures out a fix by the time the bug reaches critical mass.

If you haven't updated your IOS in a while, be aware this one is coming at you soon, but now you know the fix.
