Here’s Why Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts Need ‘Early Bird Clubs’
Just like nearly everything else in life, trends in nightlife are always changing.
In the 90s and 00s, every young adult wanted to go to “the club”. By 11 o’clock on a Friday or Saturday night, many of New England’s most popular nightclubs would be at capacity. There would be a line of people down the street waiting to get in.
That’s not really the case anymore.
As the typical club-goers from the 90s and 2000s have aged out of the nightlife scene, there have been significant changes over the last decade. While many bars continue to feature DJs on the weekends, many young adults are seeking more than just drinks and dancing. This shift in preferences has contributed to the rise in popularity of retro activities, such as bowling.
But, what if you are a Gen-X, Xennial, or Millennial who is not ready to give up going out, just yet? Or, you want to cut loose, but you don’t want to deal with obnoxious ‘kids’ in their early 20s?
That’s where ‘early bird clubs’ come in.

As mentioned above, these clubs are generally closed by 10 PM. This gives the patrons a chance to go out, have some drinks, dance, and still make it home at a reasonable hour.
In recent years, these clubs have gained popularity in large American cities, like New York and Los Angeles. Additionally, they have popped up in

However, some places are having early bird events.
For example, on Sunday, February 23rd, Mixers Nightclub in Sabattus, Maine, held a retro night. The event, which ran from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., featured hits from the 80s through the early-2000s.
If you are between 35 and 50, we'd love to know your opinion on this concept. Do you think it would be cool to have a bar/nightclub where the entertainment skewed earlier? Let us know by sending us a message through our app.
