Maine Spot Ranks Top Place For Families During Memorial Day Weekend
Maybe we are a little biased here as native Mainers, right? Even if we are, it's still super-exciting when the Pine Tree State makes it to the top of a National list.
We're fortunate here in Vacationland, at least in the warmer months, to live in a place that offers such a diverse landscape to get out and explore.
And, even though we've lived here our whole entire lives, the 'newness' of the state never seems to fade away.
And, if the newness and sense of adventure of Maine doesn't fade for its longtime residents, imagine the burning desire of people who have never spent a single day in Maine to get here to take in all her beauty.
From the majestic and rocky shoreline to the winding backroads that lead to some of the most gorgeous mountain views east of the Mississippi River, Maine is home to thousands of different adventures just begging to be taken.
While I was perusing the interwebs earlier today, I came across another list that Maine came out on top of. And, to be quite honest with you, I was in no way surprised to see it.
According to an article published by WGME 13, in a recent survey done by MaxTour, a company that does small-group excursions, they asked their audience what they considered to be the best US destinations for families this Memorial Day Weekend.
Not surprisingly, among the hundreds of different locations they were given, Maine's Acadia National Park came out on top.
The 'First to See The Sun' park is home to incredible views, miles of walking trails, and of course, the famous Cadillac Mountain.
However, Acadia wasn't the only Maine spot to make the list. WGME reports that two other Maine locations made the list including Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg and Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth.
