Remember the ‘Family Guy’ Scene That Took a Shot at Maine?

Gotta admit it was pretty funny!

Hard to believe, but the Fox show "Family Guy" is currently in its 24th season, but did you know that in Season 22, in an episode called "Cabin Pressure" that they took a subtle shot at all of us here in the great State of Maine.

When Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg, Stewie & Brian, win a trip to Maine, at Peter's company picnic, they decide to invite their friends along on the vacation. Then, of course, wackiness ensues, when tensions run high and things soon spiral out of control when the cabin burns down.

The best part is when the Griffins are leaving the state, you see a sign that says "Now Leaving Maine", followed by a voiceover that says "Maine, a day and a half is probably enough"

This is all done with a wink and a nod of course, because Family Guy creator, Seth McFarlane, is a New England guy, born in Connecticut, and then he famously attended the Rhode Island School Of Design, before hitting it big as an animator.

But in one way, the joke wasn't wrong, because if you are a mover and a shaker, who constantly needs something to do, daily life is a little bit slower here sometimes, especially during a long winter.

There have been plenty of movies and television shows that have been based in Maine, but I can't ever recall a shout-out on an animated show like "South Park", or "The Simpsons" before, so kudos to "Family Guy"
