The Best Pizza Slice in Maine is Surprisingly Found at This Gas Station
One of the best parts about Maine is going on roadtrips and stopping at little convenient stores you've never been to along the way.
If you're lucky, you'll land on one with a surprisingly decent pizza slice like the one at J Brothers Variety in Cumberland.
J Brothers Variety
This little place on Gray Rd. in Cumberland, Maine, could not have came through with the surprise slice any harder than it did.
My friends and I were on our way to explore a few trails we had heard of deep in the woods and this little shack looking gas station popped up on the side of the road.
I guess this is why my parents always taught me don't judge a book by its' cover because this place was anything but 'just a little shack gas station'.
They had a line out the door of sandwich orders and a piece of pizza that didn't make any sense coming from a gas station. Frikken look at this beaut:
I watched somebody come out with one on a paper plate and I remember saying to myself it looked just like authentic Jersey pizza.
We ordered a slice and holy crap, I might go as far as to say I think this might be the hidden gem, holy grail fast pizza stop.

I loved the slice quality (for a gas station), but J Brothers isn't the only station that has a decent slice. Also Read: This One Gas Station in Maine Known For a Surprisingly Delicious Slice
