What Are New Hampshire's Hidden Gem Towns Worth Visiting?

The other day, on Facebook, I asked you to name a town in New Hampshire that most people haven't heard of. The post blew up with towns that even I didn't know existed and I've lived in New Hampshire my whole life.

Towns like Bean's Purchase in Coos County or Hart's Location in Carroll County or, the most surprising one for me, Poplin, the original name for the town of Fremont, New Hampshire. Who knew?

There are so many other towns that you can check out with the Facebook post, but, in no particular order, here are 8 Seacoast towns that I totally agree, should get more love than they do, but... that's probably how the locals like it.

Rollinsford

Rollinsford is one of those towns that is as close to Maine as you can get without paying the income tax.

Nottingham

I live about 1/2 a mile away from Nottingham, so I like to take walks and say that I walked all the way to the next town over. I'm funny like that. Nottingham is beautiful. Pawtuckaway State Park takes up a lot of this super cute little town.

South Hampton

Aw, yes. South Hampton, NH, which is not just South of Hampton. It is located right next to Amesbury, Mass and it is one of the nicest unknown gems on the list.

Gonic

Technically, Gonic is part of Rochester, but it likes to have its own identity. Home of Gonic Trails, where you can take a quick walk even on your lunch hour. A beautiful part of the state.

Barrington

How can a town that is home to the Christmas Dove not get as much love as it deserves. It's a crime, I tell ya. Not only that, but Barrington is home of Calef's Country Store. Go check it out.

Newfields

Newfields is a beautiful town right next to Newmarket, which also almost made the list, but so many college students are moving in, it just missed the mark. Newfields is the home of former Governor Chris Sununu and within walking distance of New England Dragway.

Farmington

People are starting to notice Farmington more and more because of the price of real estate in the Lakes Region. Since most can't afford Wolfeboro, Farmington real estate prices look pretty good.
