The death of a woman found inside a Danville home late Thursday night has been ruled a homicide.

An autopsy by the state's Chief Medical Examiner concluded that Denise Damato, 59, was shot multiple times, and the manner of death was homicide, according to Attorney General John Formella. Damato was found dead inside her home set back from Back Road late Thursday night.

Neighbors told CBS Boston they heard rapid gunfire coming from Damato's house before police arrived. Senior Assistant Attorney General Ben Agati told WMUR that other people were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Formella asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit at 603-223-3856.
