Two New England beaches have earned a spot in the top ten best beaches ranking from Jetsetter Magazine. Coming in at number 10 is Singing Beach located in Manchester-by-the-Sea in the town of Cape Ann, in Essex County, Massachusetts. The scenic beach is known for its beautiful views and vista points. It’s also known for it’s “singing sand” which makes a squeaking sound beneath your feet when you walk on it. Boston.com reports that Jetsetter Magazine suggests you stop in the Westin Copley Place for a bowl of clam chowder after your visit I guess to see and be seen if you are a jetsetter.

The second beach named in the top ten was Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine coming in at number 8. Boston.com reports that Jetsetter Magazine writes that Goose Rocks Beach is “a short drive from the charming town of Kennebunkport, Goose Rocks has courted the New England elite for generations and is still today one of the most family-friendly getaways and best beaches in America.”

They go on to encourage you to grab a lobster roll at the historic Captain Fairfield Inn. The article doesn’t list the criteria for “best beach” but I am guessing from the title of the magazine, Jetsetter, it’s for fancy people that want to rub elbows with the rich and famous. I think I will try Singing Beach to see what the hype about the sand is about and really discover for myself if it “sings.”
