Thanks to the team work of K9 Officer Curtis Mailloux and K9 Kai, an alleged trespasser was caught and brought into custody on Monday, February 4th.

According to the Gilford Police Department Facebook page, Gilford PD responded to the area of Sargent Place. A male subject was reported for trespassing at a private residence. The male had fled the scene on foot and jumped out a second story window.

The post goes on to say that an immediate search perimeter was established. K9 Officer Curtis Mailloux and his partner, K9 Kai, were called for a possible track.

Wouldn't you know K9 Kai sniffed out the suspect about a 1/4 of a mile down the road! The male subject was reportedly hiding behind a dumpster located at a maintenance storage at a local business.

The post goes on to say that the officers tried to get this guy to peacefully surrender but that wasn't happening. Police stated that K9 Kai sprang into action, apprehended the man while keeping the officers safe.

The man was taken into custody and charged with with two counts of Criminal Trespass and one count of Resisting Arrest.

Team work makes the dream work! And I think someone earned themselves extra treats for the rest of the week.
