Brewery Bans Children Under 16 — Are All New England Breweries Next?
A brewery in Clevland, Ohio, has banned anyone under the age of 16 due to a series of mishaps, complaints, and other unfortunate circumstances.
Are all breweries about to adopt this dumb concept?
Let's back it up. Forest City Brewery has had numerous situations in the past few weeks where kids have treated their beer garden like a playground, according to a KSNB local article.
In some instances, the children at play have caused other customers to complain. In more serious instances, the children have thrown and broken items at the brewery.
With the brewery making national headlines for its new rule, of not allowing anyone under the age of 16 to enter, many New Englanders wonder if this concept will come to the North East.
I sure as heck hope not. It is dumb.
First of all, those instances should be on THE PARENTS, not the brewery. I don't even have children, and I am totally fine if kiddos are around at a brewery. Sure, I could do away with the cries when it is time to go, but that is life. Babies are all around us.
Breweries are the perfect place to take your kid while enjoying an adult night out. Most of the time they are far quieter than a "regular" bar, they often do not serve hard liquor, and for many, breweries are welcoming and comfortable to all.
So, no. This dumb concept should stay in Clevland, OH. I say bring the kids, bring the dogs, the more the merrier at the happiest places on earth - breweries!
