Laconia, New Hampshire, has been hosting the Laconia Motorcycle Week Rally for 101 years, and although it's hard to believe, it is the one big event that brings in tourists and their money to the region.

Imagine an extra 300,000 people pouring into Central New Hampshire for a week in June every year.

It's not only the people and riders who come to Laconia and its surrounding towns. It's also $100 million dollars in business.

Governor Chris Sununu described it as a "world class event," according to the Laconia Daily Sun.

It's fun for the entire family, as new generations are introduced to the events and camaraderie which are part of the legendary week.  It's not just riding motorcycles.  It's creating friendships and having fun.

Of course, there's some friendly competition too.

The event includes...

...the Tower Hill Climb at Weirs Beach, competitions at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford and events at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith and at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

Years of planning comes to fruition each year in June, with the week being one of the most popular motorcycle events in America, according to ridershare.com.  Everyone knows about Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, but the Laconia Motorcycle Week Rally is just as well-known.

You can find out more about America's oldest motorcycle rally at laconiamcweek.com. It's definitely a week to remember.
