New Hampshire’s ‘Lake Winnipesaukee Day’ is Set for Second Year With Epic Laser Show
Back by popular demand, Lake Winnipesaukee Day is officially set for Friday, August 9, according to the event's Facebook Page.
The first-ever Lake Winnipesaukee Day was last year on August 11, 2023. Last year's celebration was inspired by the Wolfeboro Town Docks, celebrating the M/S Mount Washington’s 150th Anniversary in 2022.
The party was so great that they decided to start a new annual tradition: Lake Winnipesaukee Day.
Last year's first-ever LWD brought thousands of people to New England's most famous and favorite lake. The event included an outdoor dance party, beer garden, and the area’s first outdoor laser show, according to an In Depth New Hampshire article.
And this year, they are running it back, but bigger and better.
The feature that brought the most attention and conversation during LWD 2023 was the laser show. So of course, another one is taking place. The laser show replaces fireworks, which can send pollutants into the lake.
The event promotes an appreciation for the beauty and economic success that Lake Winnipesaukee provides, but it also will highlight the importance of lake and land conservation and preservation.
“This new event will be bigger and better, and we’re excited to celebrate not only the lake, rivers, streams and mountains, but so many people and organizations who work to protect its waters and lands,” said Brian Deshaies, Wolfeboro Selectman Representative on the Wolfeboro Economic Committee.
In addition to the laser show, the M/S Mount Washington ship is back, bringing three decks of live music, cocktails, food service, and gorgeous views.
If the ship is not your thing, a DJ, local vendors, and food trucks will be on the grounds.
The LWD party kicks off Friday, August 9, at 5 PM. The laser light show is from 9-10 PM. And the Wolfeboro Town Docks is the center hub for all the fun.
