We may be tired of the virus, but the virus is not tired of us.  Even more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed due to a wedding reception on August 7 of this year at Big Moose Inn boston.com reports.  53 people so far have been infected and traced back to the wedding reception that was held at the Big Moose Inn in Millinocket, Maine. The affected range in age from 4 to 78 years old and sadly, one person has died.  If ever there was an example of why mask-wearing is important, this is it.

One person, who may not have any symptoms at all, can infect many people.  If you are asymptomatic and wear a mask, you will reduce the spread of the virus.  I see people all the time that say “I’m not afraid of the virus” well I am.  My wife is at high risk.  I can’t imagine living with myself knowing that I infected her.  I wash my hands, I wear a mask, I run most of the household errands until this thing is under control.  Remember, we wear masks to protect OTHERS in case we are carriers.

The reception that was held at Big Moose Inn exceeded state guidelines on indoor gatherings.  According to boston.com, Big Moose Inn has not made any public comments or statements on this incident.  It’s just another reminder that we can’t go back to business as usual just yet.  It is not yet known if Big Moose Inn will face fines or other consequences for violating the state’s rules.  I am so happy to know I am in New England rather than a state that is a hot spot like Florida or Arizona.  Let’s all be smart, wash your hands, keep social distance, and wear the mask!
