Mass. Gov. Baker Says Merrimack Valley Clean Up Process From the Gas Explosions Will Not Be Easy
WCVB reports that Massachusetts Governor Baker said the State and Local officials brought every resource available to Andover, North Andover and Lawrence after the gas line explosion yesterday and the restoration will not be a simple process.
At this point, they are bringing in natural gas technicians to each house affected, making sure that each one is safe. Governor Baker said that is the priority at this time.
Information centers are set up in the cities affected and utility customer service reps will be on hand to answer any questions.
This will not be an easy process and once the utility companies work with feds as to who should be held accountable.
Gov. Baker asks emphatically, to NOT turn on your own gas in your house. Let the technicians do that. The process of inspection of each and every home is underway, house by house, block by block.
The Governor also thanked the First Responders for answering the call last night and today.
