Massachusetts Halloween Display Gets Complaints From Parents
Halloween is SUPPOSED to be scary, frightening, creepy, campy, and yes...even fun. But some people refuse to embrace the holiday and enjoy it. Instead, they complain. Sometimes about the most innocent of Halloween displays.
Case in point: WCVB claims a Halloween display in Marshfield, MA is under fire because it features Elmo as an executioner.
Pat Lurinaitas created the guillotine with Elmo on top, and then displayed it in his front yard. He says lots of people have stopped to take pictures of themselves with Elmo and the guillotine. But a couple of people have reported the display to police, complaining it's too graphic for young, impressionable children.
For the most part, Lurinaitas says his neighbors are supportive of his habit of creating Halloween displays featuring the Muppet character.
