It may seem ironic that a guy with the last name Fox is writing about two separate fox attacks in Middleborough, MA...but this is serious. NBC Boston reports that two women claim they were attacked in separate incidents on Sunday and Monday.

Police say they received a 911 call shortly after 7 on Monday morning from a woman who was bitten by a fox at the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) on Plymouth Street.

Another woman was bitten eleven times, a half mile down the road, the night before. According to NBC Boston, the woman's daughter hit the fox with a snow shovel to stop the attack.

Massachusetts Environmental Police tell NBC Boston they are setting up traps at the  KAO campground. And are warning people to stay vigilant.

Keep in mind, it's not uncommon to healthy foxes during the daytime. On at least three occasions while vacationing on Cape Cod, I've seen perfectly healthy foxes trotting through neighborhoods. However, as NBC Boston points out...if you spot a fox acting aggressive you should report it immediately to Animal Control.
