I've always believed the right film can start a conversation that continues long after the credits roll.
And since I've had over 20 years of experience as an actor, I've always appreciated the way films can bring people together. Art has a magical way of connecting communities to better understand the realities of our world.
And the best documentaries? They don't just tell a story; they spark conversations and encourage people to share their own experiences.
That's only ONE reason why the upcoming American Motherhood Tour: Film Screening stood out to me.
The filmmaker in me is excited to see how the story is told. But as a mom to a toddler, I feel even more connected to this piece because of its exploration on motherhood in America.
I've only been a mom for a short time, but I've already learned that motherhood can be equal parts rewarding, overwhelming, hilarious, and exhausting. While every family's experience is different, there's comfort in connecting with people who understand the ups and downs that come with raising children.
What I appreciate most about this event is the opportunity for mothers to gather in one place and relate to one another. Whether you're a first-time parent, a seasoned mom, or somewhere in between, having a space to listen, learn, and share can be incredibly valuable.
It also doesn't hurt that the event is completely FREE!
If you're a fan of documentaries, passionate about storytelling, or simply looking for a chance to connect with other moms, this might be an event worth checking out.
